It has been a lovely year filled with emotions, experiences and so much adventure that Valetta is the European Capital of Culture. Unfortunately every journey has come to an end and it is has now come the time to mark the outgoing 2018 with an appropriate celebration.
The official ceremony starts on the 15th of December, 17:30 at St George’s Square, with dances, a mixture of music, live acts and light projections. A contemporary performance by Moveo Dance Company will explore the Maltese culture through four characters. The culmination of the ceremony is at 20:00 the official title will be passed on to the next two cities – Plovdiv in Bulgaria and Matera in Italy, under the accompaniment of Valetta Chorus.
Further to the happenings at St George’s Square, there will be performances and gatherings around the city.
