After the successes of the motorways in London and Germany, Valencia takes the step to move the idea to the city
The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility, Giuseppe Grezzi, has announced the great project that will be carried out throughout 2018 - the first motorway for bicycles in Spain. The project will create new municipal tax on human-powered vehicles, the obligation to register all bicycles, a compulsory insurance and a new specific card for exclusive points for bicycles.
The project for the construction of the highway, with a budget close to 240 million euros, will have a total of 79 kilometers with 4 cycle lanes, 2 for each direction, which will travel through the city of Valencia. There will be also specialized service stations with necessary supplies and information panels. The project is a step further in the sustainable transport policy in favor of the 2023 project: Valencia, the city with the cleanest air in Spain.
