Final days to demonstrate how proud you are of being part of an Irish community and win the recognition you deserve
The Pride of Place Award aims to recognize the common action of local communities in Ireland, which shapes and improves the way people live. It is managed by Co-operation Ireland, together with the local authorities of the Island and the main sponsor IPB Insurance and is open to local communities on both sides of the border. By its nature, the annual competition has the objective to highlight the great work and the contribution by communities to societal development in various aspects of social life.
The annual community recognition awards are open for the 17th consecutive year and have never ceased to grow since their establishment. In order to win the award, participants representing communities must demonstrate to the judges their pride in their place by oral presentation, exhibitions of community activities and culture and a tour of the area highlighting particular aspects they take pride in. It is also essential that the community should demonstrate real partnership with the respective local council and finally – that the activity involves all sectors of the community.
Express your interest by this Friday - 19th April. The closing date for receipt of entries is 3rd March 2019. Notice that each entry must be nominated by a local authority.
