Young politicians, apply for the European Week of Regions and Cities

The annual event held in Brussels has a place reserved for young elected politicians. Learn how to join

Young elected politicians are invited to take part in the upcoming edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities between 7th and 10th October in Brussels and join around 6000 participants from the field of politics, business, finances, media and others. During this yearly event of scale, the selected young politicians at a regional or local level will have the opportunity to meet and work with their colleagues from other countries, as well as representatives from superior political levels.

There is a special list of events that gives the young politicians the opportunity to learn more about the programmes of the European Union dedicated to the cities and regions, to attend and get involved in discussions on relevant topics, including blockchain, territorial cooperation, citizen engagement, sustainable development goals and cohesion policy, among others. In addition, they could take part in the special sessions organised by the respective political groups of the European Parliament. Draft agenda is available at this link.

The selected young participants will have their travel expenses reimbursed and on top of this they will receive an allowance of 269 euros. Eligible participants have to be elected politicians at regional or local level in a Member State and be younger than 40. Their applications are due by 28th June 2019 using this form.
