Mayor of Mödling is a journalist and politician Hans Stefan Hintner. He was born on 16 January 1964 in Mödling.
He worked at the ÖGB youth department from 1983 to 1989, as Federal Youth Secretary of the Christian Union of Trade Unions (FCG) and has been the editor of the newspaper of the Austrian Trade Union Confederation. He was chairman of the Young People's Party (JVP), a sub-organization of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) in the city and in the district of Mödling and served as chairman of the Lower Austria Youth Forum. In 1989, Hintner was elected press officer of the FCG and in 1995 district chairman of the Austrian Workers' Union Mödling. Until 2005 Hintner was Federal Press Spokesman of the FCG. From 1999 to 2003 Hinter was President of the Ice Hockey State Association and in 2003 was elected member of the Municipal Council of Mödling. In the same year, he took over the office of mayor. Since 16 April 1998 Hintner was also Member of the Lower Austrian Parliament. After the state election in Lower Austria in 2018 he resigned from the state parliament.
