Emmily Talpe

Emmily Talpe has been mayor of Ypres (Ieper) since January 2019 and Member of the Flemish Parliament since October 2014, first vice-chairman of the Economy, Work, Social Economy, Innovation and Science Policy Committee.

Emmily was born in Poperinge on November 1, 1975. She grew up in Ypres and attended the Lyceum Onze-Lieve-Vrouw ter Nieuwe Plant.

She graduated in 1993 in economics and modern languages ​​and went to Ghent to study law. She completed her studies with distinction in 1998.

Emmily lives in Ypres and is the mother of two children. She is the first female mayor of Ypres.
