Rumen Tomov

Mayor of Blagoevgrad is Rumen Georgiev Tomov. He completed his higher education as a mechanical engineer in Ruse. Until his election as mayor, Tomov was engaged in the construction business.

He ran for mayor of Blagoevgrad as an independent candidate. His nomination for the post was raised by an initiative committee. He was elected mayor in the second round of the 2019 local elections. Tomov plans to propose a new way of managing the municipality, with a focus to the residents, young people and businesses.
