Maria Sorvisto

Maria Sorvisto was born in 1983 in Sievi, northern Finland. She holds a Master's in Law Education from the University of Lapland. She is married and has two children.

In her early years Sorvisto worked as an export and sales assistant for the Finnish company Lappset Group, which produces playground equipment and exports them from Rovaniemi to the whole world. She also has experience on educational duties. During the past ten years Sorvisto has been working in the public sector.

Sorvisto has been mayor of Ylivieska since August 2018.
