Mayor of Nice is Christian Estrosi. He was born on July 1st 1955 in Nice. In 1983, he was elected city councillor of Nice, in charge of sports delegation. In 1985, he was elected general councillor of the Alpes Maritimes.
In 1992 he becomes the first vice-president of the Regional Council. Re-elected deputy in 1993 and 1997. Estrosi was also elected in 2001 as general councillor of the canton of Saint-Etienne-de-Tinée. On September 18, 2003, he was elected President of the General Council of the Alpes Maritimes.
On March 16, 2008, Christian Estrosi was elected Mayor of Nice. Re-elected President of the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, on March 20, 2008, he resigned after five years at the head of the departmental executive. On June 2009, Christian Estrosi was appointed Minister in charge of Industry.
On March 30, 2014, Estrosi was re-elected as Mayor of Nice and again in June 2020. Elected President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region on December 13, 2016. Nowadays, serving as President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region and President of Nice Côte d'Azur Metropolis, Christian Estrosi wants to build a territory of the future.
