Eleftherios Karaiskos

Mayor of Amorgos is Eleftherios Karaiskos. He was born in 1971 in Athens. After studying at the Sociology Department of Panteion University, he graduated in economics and finance at Warwick Business School in Great Britain.

He has worked for many years as a financial risk management consultant and in the research and development department of an US integrated financial systems company.

Karaiskos has lived in Amorgos since 2000. He is married with three children. Over the years, he has worked in a family-owned business, in a traditional home-based business as well as in farming.

Karaiskos was first elected City Councilor in 2014, he is also Chairman of the Municipal Education Committee, Chairman of the Primary School Committee and Vice President of the newly established Municipal Port Fund of Amorgos. He has systematically dealt with the operation of the financial service, the creation and operation of municipal legal entities, the utilization of municipal property, the upgrading and management of educational infrastructure, the promotion of sport and the promotion of the island.
