Apostolos Kalogiannis

Mayor of Larissa is Apostolos Kalogiannis. He was born on June 18, 1952 in Larissa. In 1976 he finished the Dental School of Athens and after fulfilling his military service he returned to Larissa, where he works as a professional dentist until today.          

Active member of the anti-dictatorial struggle and the Polytechnic uprising, upon his establishment in Larissa  he participated actively in the political and social life of the city. 

In 1982 he was elected to the City Council of Larissa, where he was President for many years. In 2006 and in 2010 he was elected to the city council as the head of the movement "Unitarian Initiative Authorities".

He became candidate for mayor of the "Coalition of Larissa", winning the local elections in May 2014. In May 2019 Kalogiannis was re-elected mayor of Larissa.
