Athanasios Zekentes

Mayor of Lokroi is Athanasios Zekentes. He was born in 1978 and grew up in Atalanti, perfecture of Fthiotida. He is a graduate of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens/ Department of Economics (2000) and holds a master’s degree in "Economic Policy and Applied Economics" (2002).

His professional career began in 2004 as a Business Consultant (Hellenic Investments - Business Consultants SA) for Public Private Partnerships and Real Estate Valuation Studies (DTZ Greece), while he has also cooperated with the Economic and Social Committee (ESC) of Greece, as an expert

Until his election as Mayor of Lokroi Municipality, he worked for Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (OTE Group), as Head of Department for the budget of the Group's Technical Services.

He has been actively involved in public affairs as:

- Deputy Mayor (2010) and municipal Councilor in the Municipality of Atalanti (2007-2010).

- Vice Chairman of the Board of the Child Protection Center "Michalineio", Piraeus (2010-2013).

- Student representative in the management bodies of the Economics Department of the University of Athens (1997-2002).

- Secretary General of the Panhellenic Workers' Association of the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (PASE OTE) (2015-2018), 2nd Vice President (2014-2015), Board Member (2012-2018).

- Candidate Member of Parliament in Fthiotida Perfecture, 2015.

- Member of the Assembly of Representatives of the Hellenic Chamber of Commerce (since 2013).
