Mayor of Poros is Ioannis Dimitriadis. He was born in 1978. He is a PhD candidate at Panteion University in the field of "Strategic Analysis and Oratory Art" and holds a degree in "International and European Studies" and a master’s degree in "International Relations and Strategic Studies" from the same University thanks to a scholarship from the National Scholarships Foundation.
Since 2007 Dimitriadis has been leading in local and pan-Hellenic actions such as the "Initiative for the Protection of the Marine Environment of Poros", the "Initiative - Poros" Association, "Poros Citizens and Consumers Association", the "Panhellenic Steering Committee of Areas Affected by Aquaculture Development" and recently the "Marine Environment Cooperation Network". His involvement with the public is accompanied by a strong activism in environmental protection.
In 2010 Dimitriadis was a candidate for mayor of Poros and from 2011 to 2014 he was head of the major minority faction of the Municipality. He is mayor of Poros since September 2014, following his election with 56% in May 2014 and his re-election with 58% in May 2019.
