A fourth generation Dubliner, he was born and reared in Ballybough, in Dublin’s North Inner City. He graduated from Dublin City University with an Honours Degree in Accounting and Finance. He is also a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, a Licentiate of the Institute of Bankers and he holds a Diploma in Financial Services Law from University College Dublin.
He is married to Joyce and he has four grown up sons. His interests include Irish History, politics and sports.
