Rolandas Janickas

Rolandas Janickas, Mayor of Ukmerge District Municipality, was born in 1966 in Anicheschay. In 1988, he graduated from the Higher Military Communication School in Ulyanovsk (Russia), and in 2012 - from "Gediminas" Vilnius Technical University. Between 2013 and 2015 he was the Deputy Mayor of the Ukmerge District Municipality, and from 2015 onwards - Mayor of the same municipality.

His most important activities and projects involve protecting the historic heritage of Ukmerge, including preservation of the old town while adapting it to the modern public needs. Spatial development of the public spaces of the fortress hill of Ukmerge and the central urban areas is also among the mayor's priorities.
