Christiane Brassel-Rausch

Former municipal councillor of Differdange, Christiane BRASSEL-RAUSCH became Mayor of the municipality in October 2019. The President of the Greens took over the post of Roberto Traversini who resigned over a case of building without the proper authorisations. She was sworn in on October 25, 2019.

Ms BRASSEL-RAUSCH thus became the first female mayor of the third-largest city in Luxembourg (in terms of population). She has been living in the Municipality of Differdange since 1988 and is married with two children.
