Roberto Traversini

The former Mayor of Differdange is Roberto Traversini. He was born on January 3th 1963 in Cantiano, Italy. Politically, Roberto Traversini is particularly committed to the environment, youth and housing. He co-founded the Differdange CIGL (Center for initiative and local management), of which he was president.

After the communal elections in 2005, Roberto Traversini joined the municipal council in Differdange. After the parliamentary elections of October 20, 2013, Traversini became a representative. He replaced Felix Braz, who joined the government as Minister of Justice. Traverisini is the first parliamentarian who was born abroad with tnon-Luxembourgish parents. In January 2014, he took over the post of mayor from Claude Meisch, who became minister.

He resigned in October 2019 in relation to a case with construction without the required permissions.
