Francis DEBONO

Born and raised in Marsa, I was elected for the first time as Mayor back in 1994 when the Local Councils where established and I have occupied this post almost uninterrupted for the past 25 years up to this date.

I have always represented the Malta Labour Party which is represented in the European Parliament as part of the Party of European Socialists (PES).

During these 25 years I have attended various conferences on migration and discussions to represent my locality, whereby I have always stressed the importance of integrating different nationalities.

Over these years, during my tenure I saw the locality transform from one which was based on heavy industry to a residential area and managed to do various projects for the benefit of the residents
