Noel Formosa

Noel Formosa has been Mayor of San Lawrenz since 1994. He is also the first Mayor of the village, since the establishment of the San Lawrenz Local Council on 3 June 1994.

He has a Qarrej tal-Provi Certificate focused in Maltese Language from L-Università ta' Malta and a Master Degree in Maltese Studies from the Institute of Maltese Studies at the University of Malta.

Noel Formosa served as titular member in the European Committee of the Regions (CoR), in the Council of Europe and as Vice President of the European People’s Party (EPP) Group in the CoR.

Apart from his 26-years long experience as a mayor, Formosa has worked as Gozo Regional Representative and Vice President of the Region of Gozo. He is also skilled in nonprofit organizations, Negotiation, Advertising, Event Management, IT and Editing.

In 1989 he was conferred as Commandatore dell Ordine di San Silvestro Papa by Pope John Paul II himself.
