Tadeusz Truskolaski was born on 10th April 1958 in Kapice Stare. In 2006, Tadeusz Truskolaski took part in local government elections as a candidate for the Białystok City Mayor for the first time. On 26th November, residents of the city entrusted him with the function of the Mayor of the City for a four-year term of office. In 2018, residents of Białystok decided for the fourth time that Tadeusz Truskolaski should lead the local government of Białystok. The current term of office will last till 2023.
Tadeusz Truskolaski is an economist by education. Having graduated from the University of Gdańsk, he started his professional career as a university teacher, at the same time continuing his scientific work. Currently, he holds the title of doctor habilitatus and Professor of the University of Białystok. He is an author of more than 110 scientific publications.
Since 2008, the Białystok City Mayor has been a member of the Committee of the Regions, an advisory body to the EU dealing with regional policy.
In 2019, he was elected president of the management board of The Union of Polish Metropolises engaging 12 largest Polish cities. Earlier, he joined the Association of Polish Cities.
He is married and has two children.
