The first edition of what is to become an annual event is taking place today and tomorrow online
Luxembourg is playing host to an international event, meant to launch a network of over 200 European Digital Innovation Hubs. A virtual conference, featuring European and national political and business leaders, will be demonstrating the far-reaching benefits of digitalisation.
The first annual EDIH conference is a great opportunity for discussions around the future of EU digital industrial policy and exchange of best practices by public authorities of different levels.
The EDIH GEARING UP conference is the first annual European Digital Innovation Hubs conference. As such, this public event will see the official launch of the European Digital Innovation Hubs initiative all across Europe.
This two-day event is meant to resolve how Digital Innovation Hubs, which have been enjoying support from the European Commission since 2016, can find their place in the digitalisation of European economy and society. Furthermore, the conference will also address the future call for the EDIH under the Digital Europe Programme.
With this in mind, the event will be particularly useful to candidates that wish to become digital innovation hubs and the respective public authorities that are involved in the digitalisation of the local economies. In more than 20 parallel sessions and many network opportunities, they will be invited to share experiences, exchange best practices and discuss the future of the EU digital industrial policy.
Among the policymakers to intervene, are Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel and EU Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton. They will be joined by representatives from Member States and regions, national initiatives for digitalisation, industry, SMEs, academia, Digital Innovation Hubs, and research and technology centres.
See the full programme and find information on how to register from the official website of EDIH. The event is hosted by Luxembourg’s Innovation Agency (Luxinnovation), in cooperation with Luxembourg Ministry of Economy, the European Commission and the DIHNET.EU project.
