Las autoridades de Alcalá de Guadaíra han anunciado que tienen previsto completar la remodelación del sistema de iluminación de su localidad, un proyecto masivo que se espera que reduzca significativamente los gastos municipales, pero también la emisión de gases de efecto invernadero en un 30%. La actividad abarcará no solo las zonas residenciales, sino también los parques industriales y empresariales, una veintena de ellos, ubicados en esta localidad suburbana del área metropolitana de Sevilla.
Esto es consecuencia de lo que ha sido una renovación en curso del sistema de iluminación en el municipio durante el último año y medio, que se ha considerado un éxito. Como resultado, se ha considerado que la mejor manera de avanzar es seguir adelante con la revisión completa de las luminarias, en lugar de trabajar por partes.
Hablando en números concretos, el proyecto tiene como objetivo reemplazar unos 13 800 puntos de iluminación en toda la ciudad, así como otros 220 paneles de control y protección, con tecnología LED. Además, el municipio también instalará sistemas de telegestión y módulos de medida.
Se cree que cambiar a un enfoque a distancia en la gestión ayudará a implementar uno de los objetivos de la administración para introducir una economía más baja en carbono, además de la eficiencia energética muy promocionada que traerán los reemplazos.
Las autoridades opinan que la iniciativa permitirá ahorrar a las arcas 400.000 euros anuales en facturas de servicios públicos y también liberará 2.168 toneladas de CO2 menos a la atmósfera.
Naturalmente, una idea de gran envergadura, como esta, viene con sus costes y, en este caso concreto, rondarán los 7,5 millones de euros. El Ayuntamiento local ha informado que tiene previsto presentar la idea al programa de subvenciones para proyectos singulares de entidades locales, dentro del Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional, que aporta hasta el 80% del dinero.
