28 photos capture the most exciting moments of the Tokyo Summer Olympics
The most significant Bulgarian sports successes in 2021 are presented in a photo exhibition located in front of the National Palace of Culture. It is organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports as part of the #BeActive European Week of Sports initiative. 28 photos present the most exciting moments of the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, as well as successful performances of Bulgarian athletes.
The citizens and guests of Sofia will be able to see the strong emotions captured during the Bulgarian triumphs in the Japanese capital. Central to the exhibition are the Olympic boxing champion Stoyka Petrova, rhythmic gymnastics ensemble and karate champion Ivet Goranova, silver medalist in sport shooting Antoaneta Kostadinova and the bronze medalists in wrestling Taibe Ussein and Evelina Nikolova.
The Bulgarian Olympic moments are also represented by the participation of swimmers Yosif Miladinov and Lyubomir Epitropov, athletes Ivet Lalova-Collio, Mirela Demireva and Gabriela Petrova, badminton players Gabriela and Stefani Stoevi, and weightlifter Hristo Hristov.
The 2021 achievements were further broadened by the silver-medal wins at the Paralympic Games by Hristian Stoyanov and Ruzhdi Ruzhdi.
The exhibition also presents some of the greatest national sports achievements of the young athletes. Visitors will also be able to see the emotional moments captured during the game of the national team for juniors under 19 in the final of the World Volleyball Championship.
Maria Oryashkova, who is a six-time world and ten-time European sambo champion, is also one of the sports heroes pictured in the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open for visitors until 11 October.
