Los deportes ecuestres siempre han tenido un cierto matiz de encanto aristocrático. Sin embargo, la Junta de Andalucía cree que es hora de popularizar el arte que implica la equitación, y promoverlo como opción turística y de ocio entre el público sevillano. Esto es parte de una estrategia que busca atraer un nuevo mercado turístico que antes no se había explotado: los vecinos andaluces.
Para ello, el 21 de diciembre se puso en marcha una campaña de promoción en la línea de tranvía T1 de la capital andaluza con el objetivo de dar a conocer a la gente la Real Escuela Andaluza de Arte Ecuestre de Jerez de la Frontera.
La academia ecuestre antes mencionada es una de las más prestigiosas de su tipo en el mundo. Se dedica a preservar todo lo relacionado con los caballos, pero con un nivel de calidad muy alto. Esto incluye no solo clases de equitación y doma, sino también cursos de cría, herrería y fabricación de sillas de montar.
En cierto modo, también sirve como base de operaciones de la famosa raza andaluza, un caballo hermoso y muy apreciado que es famoso en todo el mundo. El mejor escaparate de la inteligencia y la gracia de estos animales es el espectáculo 'Cómo bailan los caballos andaluces', que constituye un gran atractivo turístico. Es una tradición cultural que conserva el estilo español de la equitación entre otras cosas.
La academia está ubicada en la ciudad de Jerez de la Frontera, que a su vez no está tan lejos de Sevilla. Probablemente para muchos sevillanos este icono cultural ha sido un hecho, pero ahora el Gobierno regional quiere sumar su entusiasta apoyo ofreciéndoles atractivas opciones de ‘turismo de cercanía’. El término refleja una tendencia creciente a volver la mirada de los establecimientos turísticos hacia sus vecinos inmediatos. También es una señal de la adaptabilidad de la industria en las difíciles condiciones provocadas por las restricciones sanitarias y el cierre de fronteras.
