The Municipality of Bergamo has already defined all the criteria and methods for distributing the vouchers provided by the Prime Minister's Decree that was signed on 28 March on the concrete aid for household spending during the coronavirus days.
“We are ready to concretely help our fellow citizens with the shopping vouchers. We have worked hard in these hours to establish certain criteria and therefore immediately meet the needs of families in these days of coronavirus emergency. " informs the Mayor Giorgio Gori, on the website of the Municipality of Bergamo.
The Municipality of Bergamo will distribute about 640 thousand euros. For this purpose, the Department of Social Policies has set up two special telephone numbers to contact to request the delivery of the "shopping vouchers".
Residents of the municipality can contact the numbers - 035.399826 and 035.399910. They are active from Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 12.30 and on Tuesday from 14.00 to 16.30. The disbursement may take place following a brief evaluation by the social services office and will be carried out following a telephone interview.
Through the phone call, the actual vulnerability of the citizen who at this moment is lacking or has a very limited income that doesn`t allow him to take care of his basic needs will be confirmed. All citizens who find themselves in conditions of economic fragility, caused by the COVID-19 emergency have access to this benefit.
