Hoy, la Generalitat de Cataluña, el gobierno ejecutivo regional, comunicó nueva imposición de medidas socialmente restrictivas a raíz de los picos en los casos de coronavirus. Sin embargo, las medidas que se supone que durarán 15 días y se aplican a 14 municipios de la metrópoli de Barcelona, no tienen un carácter obligatorio.
Este tipo de medidas recomendatorias se anunciaron a principios de esta semana en la ciudad de Lleida y sus regiones circundantes. El miércoles también fueron dirigidos a algunos barrios de L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, una ciudad satélite de la capital catalana.
Sin embargo, después de registrar 1293 casos en las últimas 24 horas en toda la comunidad autónoma, las autoridades se preocuparon de que la epidemia haya alcanzado una vez más el tipo de niveles no vistos desde marzo.
Por esa razón, la Generalitat ha decidido publicar una lista de recomendaciones con el objetivo de ralentizar la movilidad y las actividades sociales de los residentes.
Las medidas más estrictas, y las únicas obligatorias, incluyen la prohibición de reuniones de más de 10 personas y la organización de eventos culturales, de ocio y deportivos.
También se recomienda salir de la casa solo por razones esenciales, como trabajo, problemas médicos, compras de alimentos, o cualquier cosa que no pueda posponerse.
Al mismo tiempo, se afirmó que las bibliotecas, museos y colonias de verano permanecerán abiertos. Lo mismo ocurre con las terrazas y restaurantes, aunque estos tendrán que operar al 50% de su capacidad.
Alba Vergés, la Concejera de Salud, ha recordado al público que usar máscaras y seguir estrictas normas de higiene siguen siendo las únicas formas de prevenir infecciones. Sin embargo, la Generalitat no ha podido declarar oficialmente un estado de emergencia, ya que esto es una competencia de la administración central en Madrid.
