Children will grow herbs in eco-friendly outdoor activities in Plovdiv

In a pleasant and entertaining way, they will immerse themselves in the world of nature and learn how to protect the environment

The projects of two Bulgarian kindergartens, located in Plovdiv, has been approved under the Enterprise for Management of Environmental Protection Activities programme, announced Stoyan Alexiev, Mayor of the North District, Plovdiv. The kindergartens are "Maritsa" and "Daga" (Rainbow).

As part of kindergarten "Maritsa's" project, it is planned to create a green outdoor study hall in its yard. At the moment, thanks to the help of the parents of enrolled children, the educational facility already boasts a vegetable garden, thus a large gazebo with tables and benches will be added to it.

In this part of the kindergarten, it is planned for the children to participate in open-air activities in the form of games on the topic of how to grow vegetables and herbs. Herbs will be dried there, and the kids will be able to taste the vegetables.

In a pleasant and entertaining way, children will immerse themselves in the world of nature and learn how to protect the environment. The idea is part of the “Montessori” training, “Cosmos” department, through which the children will get acquainted with nature and its laws.

Training through new, innovative methods in order to better acquire knowledge and skills

An eco-study hall will also be built in the yard of kindergarten "Rainbow", near the playground. In it, children will be trained through new, innovative methods in order to better acquire knowledge and skills.

Through the project, the canopy of the existing playground will be repaired. The new facility will have 2 gazebos, 2 drawing boards, 2 benches and 3 new waste bins.

Over the years, "Rainbow" kindergarten has repeatedly applied under the environmental programme. To the delight of educators and children, this year the kindergarten has successfully won its project bit. In addition, it is applying for a second consecutive year under the Erasmus + programme, and has already completed a project to train 10 teachers in the UK.
