To celebrate Europe Day on 9 May, the EU institutions in Brussels, Luxembourg and Strasbourg will once again be opening their doors to the public throughout May. The Open Day is a unique opportunity for everyone from the young to the not-so-young to discover how the European institutions work, what their priorities are and how they affect the lives of Europeans. Throughout the day, visitors can step inside the institutions’ buildings to take part in special activities such as public debates and enjoy guided tours of the buildings, all in a festive atmosphere.

To mark the landmark, Luxembourg will host a European village with stands for each of the member states in place d’Armes and place Jan Palach. Besides offering information about the countries and traditional food, visitors can also see folk dances and hear music from member countries. Access is free and the event promises to be family-friendly.
