It is the first city outside of the US where Google will conduct this kind of air pollution measurement
Copenhagen Solutions Lab is working with Google to measure air pollution in the Danish capital street-by-street. It is hoped that the partnership will create new opportunities for emissions and particulate pollution initiatives. Google’s Street View cars will drive throughout the city with air metering equipment, giving new insight into the extent of local air pollution. Its measurements will complement current measurements of NOx and particles.
Copenhagen Solutions Lab is part of the Technical and Environmental Administration in Copenhagen Municipality. All air data will be made available to the city of Copenhagen and relevant knowledge institutions. Google has been using its Street View Cars to map air quality since 2014 as part of its Google Earth Outreach work. Copenhagen is the first city outside of the United States where Google is conducting this type of air pollution measurement.
