Cycle of meetings in the “Lombardia Europe 2020” project starts on 15 October

Insights on the Recovery plan, the role of Lombardy Region in support of European territories, partnerships and networks

15 October, from 10:30 to 11:30 am, will see the first webinar held for members of the community of technicians and local administrators of the “Lombardia Europe 2020” project, promoted by ANCI (National Association of Italian Municipalities), the Province of Brescia and Lombardy Region. The aim of the project is to create 12 Europe Offices in each of the provinces from the region able to tap into the funds from European programmes.

Financial statements and main results achieved, with details on operating procedures

The first appointment, which will be held remotely using an online platform, will take stock of the activity carried out by the Lombardy Region in activating European resources as part of the 2014-2020 program that is about to close. The innovations introduced by the European Commission to use the residual resources as a first response to the socio-economic emergency produced by the pandemic crisis will be also discussed.

"The webinars will serve to give very precise and concrete indications to the network of administrators that has been created as part of the project to increase the capacity of the territories to network and to plan interventions that can be financed by the EU in various fields, from environmental sustainability to social inclusion and digitization. In the meantime, our project continues, starting with the experimental designs, 20 in all, which will be carried out in all Lombard provinces by the end of this year", explained Egidio Longoni, deputy secretary of Anci Lombardia and project manager of Lombardia Europe 2020.

The subsequent webinar appointments, between October and December, will be dedicated to investigating the news related to the programming and activation tools of the European 2021-2027 funds and the Recovery plan (Next Generation EU), which is worth 209 billion euros for Italy. One of the speakers will be Nicola De Michelis, a director from the European Commission, who is in charge of the Smart and Sustainable Growth Unit and the implementation of European funds for Southern Europe.
