Voici pourquoi la Fondation du Patrimoine et le Ministère de la Culture invitent tous ceux qui souhaitent faire un don en faveur de la reconstruction de la cathédrale Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul à contribuer dès maintenant.
La cathédrale gothique Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul de Nantes a subi un grave incendie ce samedi 18 juillet 2020 au matin. La cause de l'incendie destructeur n'a pas encore été établie, mais les autorités enquêtent sur un incendie criminel. Cela arrive un an seulement après que l'emblématique cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris a également subi un incendie majeur.

Depuis plus de 400 ans, le grand orgue, érigé au XVIIe siècle, a subi plusieurs opérations de restauration - extensions en 1784 et 1970 mais aussi épisodes plus sombres comme les bombardements de la Seconde Guerre mondiale ou l'incendie du 28 janvier 1972, rappelle la Fondation.
Maintenant, le grand orgue doit être reconstruit pour résonner à nouveau. C'est pourquoi la Fondation du Patrimoine, en coordination avec le Ministère de la Culture, lance un appel à dons.
