The immersive and inclusive Wonderlights night walk is back with a new show at a new location - Malahide Castle and Gardens
Following the resounding success of the 2019 inaugural show ‘Wonderlights Presents: Ireland by Night’ at Palmerstown House Estate, Wonderlights has announced its return with a new sound-and-lights spectacle at a new location. The immersive and inclusive night walk experience called ‘Castle of Light’ will be staged this November and December at Dublin’s Malahide Castle and Gardens.
The historic Castle & Woodland Gardens will receive a fairytale makeover with stunning lighting displays and immersive projections. Walking along a 1.8 km route, the visitors will be treated to a mix of lights, colour, nature and soothing sounds and in the meantime will be introduced to the castle’s rich history.
The visitors will delve into the story of the Talbot family who were gifted the land by King Henry II following the Anglo-Norman invasion of Ireland. They will learn of the tales from the all-knowing talking tree before making their way to the Woodland Cafe and Gallery Area for some delicious treats and wondrous art installations.
Wonderlights is suitable for families, couples (a perfect date-night outing!) and groups of friends from all ages. It is an inclusive event, as the route is wheelchair and pram friendly and guests with extra sensory needs are welcome.
And despite its outdoor setting, the night walk will be subject to social distancing and other safety requirements and regulations related to Covid-19.
Dates: Thursday to Sunday from 18 November - 23 December
Times: Entry times are every 15 minutes from 5 pm-8 pm
