La tessera chiamata Mic é stata pensata per i residenti permanenti o temporanei (ad esempio studenti) in città e stata presentata ufficialmente dalla sindaca Virginia Raggi e dal suo vice con delega alla Cultura Luca Bergamo, ideatore della card. Accanto a loro, per la prima volta era anche il neo ministro alla cultura Alberto Bonisoli.
La Mic, garantisce l'ingresso anche alle mostre temporanee ospitate negli spazi civici comunali, fatta eccezione per Palazzo Braschi e Museo dell'Ara Pacis. Questo e una rivoluzione nell'approccio libero alla fruizione della cultura. Il suo ideatore Luca Bergamo ha fatto di questo principio - la libera fruizione dell'arte e della cultura e l'apertura degli spazi - la stella polare anche di altre iniziative: dal Capodanno con iniziative diffuse nella Capitale alla festa della musica allargata alle strade della città.
