Are you on the lookout for presents already?
Culture cannot be replaced, so let us support it: this is the message of the Museum and Galleries of the City of Ljubljana (MGML) for the upcoming holiday season. There is now an easy way to help the struggling arts and culture sector while checking the boxes on your Christmas presents’ checklist.
Earlier this week, the city authorities of Ljubljana and the local cultural institutions launched a joint initiative: they opened a new online store where all lovers of art and culture curious about the history of the Slovenian capital can get for themselves or their relatives original Christmas presents.
Not only is the online magazine a great tool to support artists, whose sector has been heavily hit during the coronavirus pandemic, but it certainly is a great time-saver. As part of the initiative, one can find nine types of carefully handpicked picked packages, with goods and services, suitable for Christmas present, and have them delivered to his or to their friends’ homes.
The content has been prepared by the City Museum of Ljubljana, the Jakopič Gallery, Plečnik's House and the City Gallery of Ljubljana and includes selected items by local and foreign artists, museum publications, original museum water bottles, freshly roasted coffee from the museum café, and of course – exhibitions tickets for two for the coming year.
Finally, the gifts can be made even more personalized with a handwritten letter from the museum addressed to the recipient. Once prepared, the products will be carefully wrapped by in MGML in beautiful cardboard packaging.
If you want to surprise a friend, a business partner or reward yourself this Christmas while helping the culture sector of Ljubljana stay afloat, make sure to check out the online shop from this link. Once can certainly find something for every taste.
