MOVELETUR es un proyecto de Interreg de múltiples socios que tiene un objetivo claro: hacer que las regiones naturales transfronterizas del norte de Portugal y el noroeste de España sean fácilmente accesibles sin comprometer su condición ambiental. A tal efecto, los visitantes de estas regiones Natura 2000 pueden esperar disfrutar de una belleza prístina sin preocuparse por la movilidad, los costes o las emisiones. Tienen la oportunidad de reservar y utilizar una bicicleta eléctrica o un coche eléctrico gratuitos y luego recorrer los casi 1000 kilómetros de la red de rutas.
Naturalmente, siempre existe la posibilidad de realizar caminatas para aventurarse y explorar lo que la naturaleza tiene para ofrecer, pero si uno quiere hacer una distancia adicional y tiene poco tiempo o sufre restricciones de movilidad, entonces el proyecto MOVELETUR está ahí para nivelar el campo.
Hay 16 puntos de carga de baterías de automóviles ubicados estratégicamente en los parques naturales. En España, cuatro se encuentran en el Parque Regional de Gredos, uno en el Parque Natural de las Batuecas, tres en el Parque Natural de Arribes del Duero y tres en el Parque Natural de Sanabria. El Parque Natural de Montesinho de Portugal tiene cinco puntos de recarga.
Para maximizar el uso de los vehículos eléctricos, el proyecto mejoró el turismo de movilidad eléctrica. El equipo de MOVELETUR creó una red de itinerarios turísticos que incluyen las estaciones de carga. Estas rutas abarcan edificios públicos, atracciones culturales, paradas escénicas y opciones de alojamiento para garantizar que los visitantes aprovechen al máximo sus viajes. Los usuarios pueden viajar con confianza sabiendo que su transporte libre de emisiones no se quedará sin energía, incluso en los lugares más aislados.
Con 987 kilómetros de rutas, los socios del proyecto quieren fomentar el espíritu aventurero en los viajeros y darles la bienvenida para diseñar su propio itinerario. Hay 11 rutas de bicicletas eléctricas en España y siete en Portugal. Si uno se aventura en un e-car, puede elegir entre 11 rutas en España y tres en el país vecino.
