El mundo se está volviendo cada vez más tecnológico, lo que significa que las habilidades digitales serán una necesidad para las generaciones futuras. Por lo tanto, solo tiene sentido comenzar a aprenderlos lo antes posible.
Por eso, esta semana ha arrancado la segunda edición del Programa “Digicraft no teu cole” en Galicia. Se capacitará a 224 profesores para que puedan enseñar el tipo de habilidades que antes solo se consideraban adecuadas para estudiantes de secundaria. La idea ahora es enseñar a alumnos de hasta 6 años los entresijos de la inteligencia artificial y el diseño de videojuegos.
La formación del profesorado está organizada por la Fundación Vodafone en colaboración con la Xunta de Galicia, a través de su Agencia de Modernización Tecnológica. Al igual que un año escolar, el curso de formación constará de dos semestres: el primero se centrará en la realidad aumentada y los videojuegos, y el segundo en Inteligencia Artificial y Robótica.
La iniciativa comenzó el año pasado con 50 escuelas participantes y debido a su éxito, se decidió expandirla aún más. Las niñas y los niños de entre 6 y 8 años tendrán la oportunidad de desarrollar su alfabetización digital a un nivel mucho más rápido e intenso.
Cabe preguntarse si este tema está más allá de las capacidades cognitivas de los jóvenes. Sin embargo, el plan de estudios ha sido diseñado específicamente por la Fundación Vodafone en colaboración con expertos de la Universidad de Salamanca para que sea divertido y atractivo.
La metodología específica utiliza un enfoque de gamificación con el fin de utilizar la tecnología como vehículo para adquirir nuevas habilidades. Los maestros servirán como facilitadores para el viaje de los niños en el camino hacia el descubrimiento y las sorpresas.
Cuando se complete la formación del profesorado, 200 nuevas escuelas podrán incorporarse al Programa Digicraft, que este año se espera que beneficie a unos 32 000 estudiantes en toda España.
