Crowds of Santas ran through the Greek city on 19 December
On Sunday, the Greek City of Piraeus held the second edition of its original street race: “SANTA RUN”. To participate in the festive race, residents took to the city’s streets dressed as Santa Claus. Beginning their run at Korai Square and finishing at the Municipal Theatre, citizens sent a message of hope and optimism.
“Well done to all, young and old, who defied the cold and the drizzle, wore the costume of Santa Claus and ran to the main streets of the city, to spread the message of Christmas joy. Our goal with our Christmas events this year is to create a warm, festive atmosphere during this difficult time that we are still experiencing due to the pandemic,” commented the Mayor of Piraeus Giannis Moralis.
