Meet the Polish city that goes to great lengths to ensure the well-being of its youth
In February, the European Youth Forum announced the winner of the European Youth Capital (EYC) for 2023. Thus, Lublin became the first city in Poland to be recognized for its efforts to empower young people, for boosting participation and strengthening European identity, since the contest first took place in 2009.
Now, the public will get the chance to understand what makes Lublin stand out and to meet the people responsible for this success. This week, the organisers of the EYC will be meeting key stakeholders and actors of this change. Learn how to join them.
On Wednesday, those who are interested to learn what it takes to win the most prestigious recognitions for youth policies in Europe, are welcome to a free online event. On 28 April 2021 from 15:00 CET, representatives of the European Youth Forum will hold an open conversation with Mayor of Lublin Krzysztof Żuk and Sempre a Frente, a local civil society organisation with a long-standing tradition in youth activities. The non-profit was part of the bidding team, alongside the Municipality.
They will talk about young people’s needs, the challenges they face and what solutions exist at a city level to improve young people’s perspectives. Young representatives from Lublin will also talk about the changes they want to see in their city and their ambitions for their year as European Youth Capital.
