À peine peut-on imaginer une attraction touristique plus reconnaissable que la tour Eiffel. Situé au cœur de Paris, elle est devenue le symbole de la capitale française au cours des dernières décennies. 130 ans, pour être précis, car ce monument de renommée mondiale célèbre aujourd’hui l’anniversaire depuis son inauguration.
Ouverte au public le 15 mai 1889, il y a treize décennies, la tour Eiffel était conçue comme l'entrée et la principale attraction de l'Exposition Universelle de Paris. Conçue comme un objet d'exposition par l’architecte Gustave Eiffel, critiquée férocement par beaucoup pour son style contrasté, la tour de fer n'est pas seulement visible sur la grande majorité des souvenirs et des images touristiques de Paris, mais reste le monument payant le plus visité au monde. De plus, ce bâtiment de 324 mètres de hauteur était la plus haute structure construite par l’homme du monde pendant quatre décennies.
Ainsi, à l'occasion de son anniversaire, la Tour accueillera un spectacle spécial auquel participent 1 300 enfants parisiens, accompagnés par musique, des spectacles de lumières et une ambiance de fête inoubliable. Le programme de la soirée commence à 20h30 avec un concert gratuit de Jeanne Added sur l'Esplanade, suivi d'un spectacle de lumière sans précédent du scénographe Bruno Seillier, retraçant l'histoire du bâtiment de 81 étages, qui sera répété entre 22h00 et 1h00, ainsi que sur les deux jours suivants.
