Helsinki Airport becomes the first in the world to name itself after passengers

Finland’s biggest airport now offers a unique customer experience

Last week, Finland’s biggest airport announced that it will allow its passengers to temporarily change its name. More specifically, it will allow everyone to name Helsinki Airport after themselves for a short period of time. This means that they will get the chance to see their name added to the official sign on the airport’s façade.

Until now, airports worldwide have always been named after influential and famous figures (e.g., Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Rome, and John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City). Therefore, this initiative makes Helsinki Airport the first in the world to use the names of its customers.

Dedication to a unique customer experience

The airport’s new offer acts as proof of its dedication to its passengers and customer experience. Commenting on this, SVP of Marketing and Customer Experience at Finavia Corporation Katja Siberg shared:
