The new Hilton Rijeka Costabella Beach Resort and Spa was officially opened on 1 July in the presence of Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Mayor of Rijeka Marko Filipović. According to a press release by the government, the Czech investor JTH Holding invested over EUR 105 million in this project. This, according to Prime Minister Plenković makes the Hilton Rijeka Costabella one of the largest and most valuable investments in Croatian tourism.
Discussing the numerous advantages of this investment, Prime Minister Plenković explained that the resort will result in employment opportunities and economic growth. The recovery phase of the tourism sector will undoubtedly be accelerated as the new resort is expected to attract both domestic and international visitors.
Mayor of Rijeka Marko Filipović expressed his delight with the development, noting that the Hilton resort acts as proof of Rijeka’s potential: “The potential of Rijeka has been recognised by other investors – many international companies are present here and investments in tourism are ubiquitous, from investments in the marina in Porto Baroš to the announced further investments of JTH Holding. The pinnacle of investment in tourism is today’s opening of the Hilton on the Costabella.”
Tourists of the city and the Opatija Riviera will now be able to stay at a brand new, modern resort that offers 132 rooms as well as 62 villas and apartments. What is more, all rooms of the hotel have a sea view.
