It’s not for the faint-hearted
The event in Cluj-Napoca gathered thousands of visitors
Over 1000 visitors, more than 55 sponsors, partners and exhibitors, over 300 startups and 25 media partners - Innowave Summit once again managed to exceed expectations and take a very important step in positioning itself on the international stage, while giving the necessary innovative boost to Education, Science and Innovation Week in the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca.
The sixth edition of the Innowave Summit was recently a meeting place for business, for partnerships, for discovering talents and investors, for demonstrating good practices and useful models, for open dialogue between representatives of local ecosystems and high-ranking representatives of European institutions. A place to launch local national and European initiatives for youth, education and innovation.
Among the official guests of the event were Mariya Gabriel - European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Apostolos Tzitzikostas - President of the European Committee of the Regions, Nicolae Ciucă - Prime Minister of Romania, Ricardo Rio - Mayor of Braga, Emil Boc - Mayor of Cluj-Napoca and host of the event, Plamena Marinova - Deputy Mayor of Varna.
“Innovation ultimately means solutions for a better life for citizens, but also better paid jobs. These are among the main reasons we believe in and support the mission of the Innowave Summit. I discussed with the Commissioner several proposals, including funding for universities in Cluj, but also in Europe, for start-ups set up by students with creative ideas. They can receive funding to develop their idea and create jobs and then attract other investments. The fact that we have representatives from 28 countries here in Cluj-Napoca is a sign that we have a strong Europe and that together we will always win, regardless of the challenges we face," said Emil Boc.
Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Business Forums Dimitar Vasilev said: "In the context of the European Year of Youth, the Innowave Summit demonstrates how two European cities work together to take youth and education to the next level. The main driver of urban development is and should be experts.
The common vision shared by everyone at Innowave is to unite Europe's digital leaders and create and develop innovative ecosystems.
Together, we can make this vision a reality."
