This comes as one of several measures aimed at raising awareness on safe cycling
In an attempt to raise awareness about the security of cyclists especially during winter conditions, the City of Liege has undertaken a major action for improving the cycling conditions. Starting from January the 21st, front and back USB rechargeable light kits will be offered for free by local authorities to interested locals. The battery of the lights can go as long as 16 hours independently.
The action is organized at Velo Point Guillemins and will last until stocks available. 650 kits will be distributed to those who arrive by bike. This comes as one of several measures by the city aiming to promote safe cycling among the growing network of bikers. With this respect, it is Asbl Pro Velo which is in charge with the service on the territory of Liege. Among others, they offer advice and information to existing and future cyclists, together with maintenance of bikes, and most of all: they are entitled with the challenging task of teaching how to ride a bike.
