De plus en plus de pays auraient suivi cet exemple au cours des prochaines décennies, mais en France, le phénomène sera observé pour la première fois en 2021, dans la troisième plus grande ville - Lyon.

Il s'agit de 850 millions d'euros d'investissements et de frais de fonctionnement pour 2021, notamment les sports, les espaces publics, les établissements culturels, les mairies d'arrondissement et les marchés publics.
Une fois l'analyse terminée, la ville procédera aux ajustements appropriés pour rétablir l'équilibre, comme cela a déjà été fait pour le sport. Par exemple, le club de football féminin Olympique Lyonnais bénéficie de moins de subventions et moins de places de stade sont achetées par la municipalité, par rapport aux hommes de l'OL. Cette année, les deux montants seront égaux.
