TMB, operador de la red de metro de Barcelona, informó ayer a los viajeros sobre la introducción de nuevas herramientas de formación que harán a sus conductores y técnicos aún más capacitados y con mayor capacidad de respuesta ante emergencias. Se trata de la instalación de un simulador de conducción y una estación de realidad virtual en la estación de Fira de la Línea 9 Sur.
El operador de tránsito urbano inauguró ya en 2009 las primeras líneas automáticas del país ibérico. Se trata de las Líneas 9 y 10, que actualmente están divididas en dos tramos con obras en curso entre ellos que los unirá para convertirlos en la línea de metro más larga de Europa.
La tecnología de alta tecnología también requiere operadores competentes y capacitados, por lo que se instaló el simulador de conducción de trenes de la serie 9000. Fabricado por Alstom, reproduce una cabina de tren a escala real y cuenta con escenarios de realidad virtual y gamificación.
El simulador puede imitar escenarios de la vida real que requieren una intervención urgente. Estos pueden involucrar cualquier cosa, desde un mal funcionamiento o incidentes ambientales hasta trenes abarrotados. Por lo tanto, los técnicos del centro de mando también serán capacitados como conductores sin tener que utilizar los trenes reales para tal fin.
Los beneficios de la formación virtual serán minimizar costes e interrupciones en el servicio y los horarios. Esto es especialmente importante ahora que se requiere una alta eficiencia en el contexto de la pandemia Covid-19 cuando más trenes están funcionando en las horas pico en el metro para evitar la aglomeración de los pasajeros.
TMB informó que son muy pocos los metros equipados con simuladores de formación digitales. Esta última innovación es un paso en el proceso general hacia la automatización total de la red de metro en el futuro.
