Montpellier announces its commitment to the fight against hepatitis C with a unique program in France, explained from the local authority last week. Regarding Hepatitis C, the challenge today is to detect the largest number of people, to give them access to a treatment that will eradicate the hepatitis C virus by 2022, they explained at a press-conference with Caroline Navarre, Deputy Mayor for Health Prevention. Together with other partners, the City is launching the operation "Hepatitis C: Track yourself”.
This unique experimental prevention program in France aims to become an example for a national application. It will promote access to screening of Montpellier laboratories in the field of medical biology at no costs for participants, without an appointment and without a prescription.
The program will be subject to evaluation from September 16 to December 16, 2019.

Member of the French Network of Healthy Cities of the World Health Organisation, Montpellier has a strong medical tradition and already implements preventive actions and promotes health in various problems present on its territory and across all audiences.
