Ayer 2 de marzo, el alcalde Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza inauguró oficialmente el Parque Felipe VI de la ciudad de Logroño, según informa la web municipal. Es parte de un proyecto de larga duración que buscaba embellecer el área que se cubrió las vías del tren y dividía dos barrios. Ahora hay un espacio público verde de diseño arquitectónico que sirve para unir el área y proporcionar a los residentes un lugar muy necesario para el ocio y la relajación.
Lo interesante es que debajo del parque hay una terminal de autobuses y parte del parque cubre la cúpula de dicha estación de metro. El área total del parque es de 27 322 metros cuadrados divididos en tres secciones: la cúpula, el techo sobre la terminal y el West Park.
El Parque Felipe VI está ubicado en la zona sur de la ciudad y como ha explicado en un discurso del alcalde su diseño y construcción responden plenamente a los estándares contemporáneos de circularidad y urbanismo sostenible.
En su edificio se destacó que se han utilizado materiales de bajo impacto, como arena estabilizada, para cubrir los senderos. Asimismo, cuenta con un moderno sistema de drenaje de "esponja" que evita las inundaciones y recoge el agua de lluvia para su reutilización.
Dicho esto, también se ha prestado especial atención a la plantación de arbustos y pastos locales para impulsar la biodiversidad. Estas plantas son bastante resistentes y no requieren mucha agua. El parque también está equipado con un estanque de 1200 m3 con un área de pediluvio.
A lo largo del camino principal hay interesantes pequeñas torres cilíndricas, que en realidad sirven como lucernarios para la estación de autobuses ubicada debajo de ellas. El parque también cuenta con dos tipos de bancos: uno de madera con formas triangulares y el otro de acero.
El Ayuntamiento pronto también instalará cámaras de video en todo el parque con el fin de prevenir incidentes de vandalismo y garantizar la seguridad.
