New recreational opportunities: Vratsa will renovate the town park

The Municipality of Vratsa will provide new areas for entertainment and relaxation by modernising its main park

The Bulgarian municipality of Vratsa will begin a full renovation of the city park located next to the city’s stadium. The city garden will have facilities for entertainment, sports, and walking, as well as an amusement park and outdoor gyms. The project is a major priority for the development of Vratsa's urban environment and is included in the municipal Plan for Sustainable Development for the period 2021-2027.

Sports facilities, areas for relaxation and entertainment for the residents of Vratsa

With an area of 77 decares, the renovation will include four main areas:

  • Zone 1 will provide an opportunity for sports and outdoor games. Playgrounds for children aged 4 to 12 will be built together with an amphitheatre for performances and a cafeteria.
  • Zone 2 is designated for extreme outdoor sports by constructing a Pump Track for bicycles and a skating facility that will be about 600 meters long.
  • Zone 3 is planned for the construction of a water area where citizens can rent a paddleboat and go for a ride. The facility around the water area will be equipped with lighting and musical accompaniments. A special playground for pets is also planned in the area.
  • Zone 4 will be situated next to the main alley and is intended for an amusement park equipped with stationary and permanent facilities such as a Ferris wheel with a diameter of 32 meters. The size of the Ferris wheel will make it the largest in Bulgaria. In addition to these areas, there will be a picnic area for recreation and relaxation.

The project envisages the construction of new benches, waste bins and drinking water fountains. Furthermore, it plans to ensure that all alleys and gardens in the park are well lit. Parking with a capacity of 80 parking spaces will also be available to visitors.

Besides creating a new leisure area, the main focus will remain on the preservation of all trees that are in good condition and the forestation of the park with new plants. A comprehensive irrigation system will be created to maintain them.
