Opatija is ready to welcome tourists this Easter

The Croatian city has prepared a rich programme and put up spring decorations

With the Easter holidays rapidly approaching, Opatija has prepared a rich programme of activities and new experiences to welcome tourists. Last month, the Croatian city announced its plans to position itself as ‘an oasis of health and wellness’. Now, it is building on this and inviting visitors to relax in its spa centres and enjoy spring walks in nature.

Easter decorations and numerous activities

To mark the upcoming holiday, the Tourist Board of Opatija has decorated the streets and parks of the city with various spring motifs. More specifically, tourists and residents can walk along the coastal promenade and visit Angiolina Park and the Juraj Šporer Art Pavilion, where they can admire Easter decorations such as flowers, eggs, and bunnies.

Besides admiring the spring decorations, visitors will have the chance to take part in Nordic walking and explore the historic trails of the city. Although the waters are still cold, brave swimmers can also enjoy the waves. Aside from the health and wellness activities, Opatija has also prepared numerous concerts and performances for tourists of all ages.

The return of tourism

According to Opatija’s hoteliers, the extended Easter weekend will be successful as tourists have already made reservations for about 15,000 overnight stays. Commenting on the holiday and what the Croatian city has to offer this month, Director of the Opatija Tourist Board Suzi Petričić shared:

“Easter in Opatija is always a special experience for our visitors. We tried to enrich it with appropriate decorations as well as an interesting programme of events that brings a harmony of Easter specialties and active holidays, as well as cultural and musical activities.”

It is important to note that the Opatija Tourist Board has also recently unveiled a new information centre in Slatina, where visitors will have the chance to learn more about the upcoming spring events.
