Un système d’abris vélo est actuellement testée dans la capitale Française
La Ville de Paris expérimente la mise en place d'un nouveau système qui conduira à un stationnement plus sécurisé des vélos. Jusqu'à présent, deux abris à vélos ont été installés dans le quatrième arrondissement de la capitale française (6 impasse Guéménée et 14 rue Jacques-Cœur) pour permettre aux habitants des zones voisines de se garer en toute sécurité. La différence majeure par rapport à un parking normal réside dans la fermeture physique des vélos : l'abri est couvert et peut être verrouillé avec une clé personnelle. Il peut contenir jusqu'à six vélos et ne peut être ouvert que par ceux qui sont en possession de la clé correspondant.
Les nouveaux abris y resteront jusqu'à la fin de l'année 2019, à la suite de quoi l'extension du nouveau service sera décidée. Jusque-là, plus de soixante abris à vélos similaires seront installés autour de la ville, pour lesquels un marché a été ouvert. Ce sont notamment les utilisateurs du service et leur réception qui décideront si le service est nécessaire au-delà de la fin de l’année en cours.
La ville française est déterminée à devenir la capitale mondiale du vélo en 2020 pour laquelle plus de 150 000 EUR seront investis dans le cadre du Plan vélo 2015-2020.
